Tips to defeat Rayquaza and Mega Rayquaza in Pokemon Legends Z-A DLC
The battle against Rayquaza takes place in two phases. First, you must take down its regular form at level 200. Once done, Level 200 Rogue Mega Rayquaza will appear. Defeating it will complete the challenge.
Rayquaza is a Dragon- and Flying-type. Try to exploit its Dragon weaknesses, as its ability and boss move (summoning storms) appear to mitigate the Flying weakness. This means Ice-, Fairy-, and Dragon-type attacks are your best bet.
Here is a team recommendation to help defeat Rayquaza:
Rayquaza will summon tornadoes that will suck you in at a couple of points during the fight. Make sure to stay out of those by dodging and rolling. Also, weather conditions will not be effective against Mega Rayquaza’s ability.
Take only maxed-out Pokemon with you for this fight and carry lots of Revives and Max Potions.
You can catch Rayquaza after this fight. It will be at level 80 and have the following moves:
- Dragon Ascent
- Meteor Beam
- Hyper Voice
- Outrage
